AIKEN – Mrs. Althea Luck Robinette, 95, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 Am Saturday in Carolina Memorial Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC. Reverend David Prather will officiate.
Mrs. Robinette was the wife of the late D.T. Robinette. She was born August 25, 1912 in Troy, NC, one of 6 children. She lived most of her life in Kannapolis and Landis, NC. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church where she served as WMU President. Superintendent of the Youth Department, adult Sunday School teacher and a member of the adult choir.
She was a substitute elementary school teacher and for several years president of Woodrow Wilson PTA. Later she owned and operated Lucky’s Beauty Shop until she retired in the late 1980’s and moved to Aiken, SC to be with her only child.
Mrs. Robinette is survived by her daughter Peggy R. (William) Piesch, Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Reushe E. Stokes, Aiken, Timothy A. Piesch, Aiken, Alison A. Piesch, N. Augusta, SC, Tracey Gronde, Myrtle Beach, SC; five great grandchildren; Natalie Harley, Jeremy Harley, Nicholas Gronde, Casey Gronde and Taylor Gronde; a sister, Ann M. Johnston, China Grove, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Doc Thomas Robinette, her brother, Joe Luck, and a great granddaughter, Whitney Harley, preceded her in death.
The family’s wish is that everyone who knew Althea, worked with her, went to church with her, came in contact with her in any way. Or was influenced by something she did or said, will remember her, and smile!
