AIKEN, SC - ELEANOR MARY HEATH, 73, beloved wife of Gene Heath, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Mrs. Heath was a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Ellen Kervian Whelan. She had lived in Aiken since 1960 and was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Eleanor worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass for 36 years, and then at Walmart for 9 years. She loved to gamble, enjoying trips to Cherokee, NC, and also Bingo and lottery tickets. She was no doubt, one of a kind. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Eleanor was always there for her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gene; three daughters, Vickie Green (Scott), Mary Heath (Randy Johnson), Diane Franklin (Teddy); a son , Wayne Heath (Rhonda), all of Aiken; seven grandchildren, Mitch Plunkett, Jr., Kenny Heath, Cody Green, Dylan Green, Jermey Heath, Chase Heath and Chance Heath; two great-grandchildren, Alia Plunkett and Mason Plunkett; a sister, Jeannie German, Summerville, TN; and two brothers, Gerald Whelan (Marie), St. Johns Newfoundland and Bill Whelan (Elaine) Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Reverend Gregory Wilson officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box, 3694, Aiken, SC 29802.
