AIKEN – Mrs. Louise Oram Laughlin McCarthy, 89,died Thursday, July 26, 2012. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 30, at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse Funreal Home with the Reverend Max Tria officiating. Entombment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McCarthy was born in Boston, MA, to the late Helen Lunny and Edward E. Oram. She was a resident of Aiken for the last six years and a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Mrs. McCarthy was an example of kindness, encouragement and generosity to her family, friends and those she met along the way. Her life of godly faith, will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Kim) Laughlin, Aiken, James (Rhonda) Laughlin, Salem, OR; five grandchildren, Mike Laughlin, Tara Laughlin, Laura Whittaker, Amy Laughlin and Andrew Laughlin; two sisters, Helen Burton, Medford, MA.,and Rosanna Oram of Braintree, MA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Francis Laughlin and her son, David Laughlin. The family has requested that memorials be made to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 203 Park Ave., SE, Aiken, SC 29801. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
