AIKEN, SC - Memorial services for Charles Frank Brewer, Jr., Lt. Col. US Army Retired, 80, who entered into rest on Thursday, July 26, 2012, will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Private interment in Hillside Cemetery, Damariscotta, Maine. Mr. Brewer was born on December 20, 1931 in Damariscotta, Maine, having made Aiken his home for the last sixteen years after relocating from Massachusetts. He served for twenty-four years in the US Army, completing tours in Korea and Vietnam, and was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He was a past president and active member of the Aiken chapter of the Military Officers Association of America. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Sandra Taylor Brewer; a daughter, Katharine Brewer, San Francisco, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, C. Bruce and Kathleen Brewer, Somerville, MA; a grandchild, Charles John (CJ) Brewer; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Frank Brewer, Sr. and Gladys Chapman Brewer; and his siblings, Betty Brewer McDonough, Horace C., and Wm. Prescott.
