Kathy Miles Kass

AIKEN, SC - KATHY MILES KASS, 55, died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at her residence. Kathy was born in Augusta, GA, and resided in Aiken for most of her life. Kathy was the daughter of Jerome and Vivian Stovall Miles. She had two precious children, dear to her heart, a daughter, Scarlett Kass and a son, Joseph Kass. She also had a beloved brother, Jimmy Miles and a niece, Caroline Niland. Kathy absolutely loved everything about Christmas, from wreaths to her signature bows. She also enjoyed making crafts for everyone. She was the most creative person. Kathy worked as a dental hygienist and was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. The time when Kathy wasn't working was always spent enjoying life with her children. She enjoyed going to dance recitals. softball games and basketball games. Only the ones with her children involved, of course! She enjoyed volunteering at South Aiken Baptist Christian School every Friday after work. Kathy was a Godly, sweet, devoted mother and friend, and will be greatly missed. The memories of how she touched so many will always remain in everyone's heart. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Southlawn Cemetery with The Rev. Steven McNeil officiating. Pallbearers will Tom Lucas, Mark Lucas, Graylin Jay, Warren Fulghum, Robert Absbire, Ronnie Connelly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a scholarship fund for Scarlett and Joseph Kass, 326 Crestwood Dr., Aiken, SC 29803.
