AIKEN- Mr. Ervin Bell, 88, beloved husband of the late Nina Thomas Bell, died Monday October 22, at Newberry County Hospital.
Mr. Bell was born in Woodruff, SC, to the late Freeman and Lula Crow Bell. He lived most of his young adult life in Rock Hill, SC. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Ervin was the retired owner of Bells Cabinet Shop on Whiskey Road in Aiken. He was a former Sunday School teacher at Millbrook Baptist Church and at other area churches. He was a former Minister of Music for Highland Pines Baptist Church. He had a great love for people and his family, and also loved fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Joy B. (Terry) Sanderlin, Prosperity, SC, granddaughter Amy Alicia (Michael) LaChance, Aiken, SC, and a sister Annie Miskelly of Belmont, NC. He was preceded in death by his son Charles E. Bell, four sisters Louise Steele, Josie Brannon, Pauline Messer, and Mammie Lou Rowell and a brother, Thomas Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Eddie Leopard officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Miskelly, Donnie Miskelly, F. E. Miskelly, Rick Thomas, Sam Cook and Jim Langford.
The family will receive friends at the church chapel one hour prior to the funeral.
