Preston H. Weeks, Sr.

AIKEN, SC - PRESTON HOWARD WEEKS, SR., 83, beloved husband of Jean Kilgore Weeks, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Mr. Weeks was born August 25, 1928 and was a son of the late Alvin Weldon and Cora Randall Weeks. He was a graduate of Aiken High School and Clemson University, Class of 1951. Mr. Weeks was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired engineer with DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. Survivors, in addition to his wife Jean, include a son, Preston H. "Buddy" Weeks, Jr. and his wife Rosemary, Seneca, SC; a daughter, Deborah Jean "Debbie" Weeks, Greenville, SC; a grandson, Gregory Harris Weeks, Gastonia, NC and a brother, Harry Weldon Weeks, Richmond, VA. Preceding Mr. Weeks in death were his parents, a sister, Hope Weeks and two brothers, Alvin Winton Weeks, Jr. and James Randall Weeks; and a grand-daughter, Ashley Lauren Weeks. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd. Aiken, SC. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at South Aiken Presbyterian Church with The Revs. Dr. Christopher Crotwell and Dr. Bobby Pettit officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Greg Weeks, Ira "Butch" Leonard, Bob Rapp, John Callan, Jeff Wollis and Robert Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Clark, Al Mink, Phil Lockard, Melvin Googe, Felder McLauren, John Empie, Marion Prince, Ron Bartlett, William Ice, and Butch Legrand.
