Suzanne Cobb Messick

AIKEN- Mrs. Suzanne Cobb Messick, 57, beloved wife to Joseph W. Messick, died Thursday October 25, at her residence A native of Tennessee, Mrs. Messick was a daughter of Julia Cobb Herndon and the late Clifford James Franklin Cobb. She had lived in Aiken for 30 years, was retired from Westinghouse, Savannah River Co and was a member of the Aiken Church of Christ. Suzanne was a member of the Board of Directors for the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, a member of CanHope, and the Aiken Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her beloved husband, Joseph W. Messick, her mother, Julia Cobb (Dee) Herndon, Aiken, son, Clifford Heath (Heidi) Dyches, North Augusta, two step-daughters, Traci Messick (Michael) Ritt, Powhatan, VA, Gina Suzanne Snow, Aiken, two step-sons, James Russell Messick, Columbia and Joseph Nicholas Messick, Aiken, six grandchildren, Alice Rose Dyches, Christian Joseph Winkler, Britney Lauren Ritt, Hunter Michael Ritt, Tanner Mitchell Ritt and Weslei Lowery, a brother, Terry Michael Cobb, Columbia and a special friend and physicial, Dr. Sitki Ergul. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, at Aiken’s First Baptist Church with The Rev.’s Mark Hudson and Cathy Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roy Starks, Dan Rogers, David Hughey, Don Green, Dennis Hayes and Michael Ritt. Honorary Pallbearers will be member of the Aiken Regional Hospital Auxiliary and CanHope. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
