Charles M. Gantt, Sr.

AIKEN, SC - CHARLES M. GANTT, SR, 73, beloved husband of Elizabeth C. Gantt, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Mr. Gantt was a son of the late Rev. Henry W. and Ruby Huff Gantt. He was a retired supervisor with Graniteville Company and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors, in addition to his wife Elizabeth , include five children, Charles M. Gantt, Jr., Chicago, IL, Catherine (Franklin) Lindler, Batesburg-Leesville, SC, Gwendolyn (Dwight) Wooley, Johnston, SC, Tina (Kevin) Barron, Aiken and Sharon Vibbert, Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren, Beverly (D. J.) Barr, Heather Lindler, Kimberly Lindler, Ashley (Taylor) Knock, Katelynn Wooley, Amanda Barron, Kassandra Barron, Jeff Gantt, Brandon Gantt, Kelley Gantt, Christopher Gantt, Braxton Cooley and Rebecca Vibbert; 4 great-grandchildren, Ethan Barr, Garrett Barr, Bentley Vibbert and Laiken Brock; sister, Grace Fox, Aiken. Mr. Gantt was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Woodrow W. Gantt, John H. Gantt and Jimmey W. Gantt. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Fox, Ricky Gantt, Timmy Gantt, D.J. Barr, Thomas Roberts and Kevin Barron.
