Robert D. "Bob" King

AIKEN, SC - ROBERT DENNIS "BOB" KING, 65, beloved husband of Shirley Joy French King, died suddenly Monday, September 3, 2012 off the coast of Greece, while on a cruise with his wife celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary. A native of Atlanta, Bob was a son of Katie King Whitehead and the late Bernard Joseph King. He was a graduate of Cedarville College in 1969, and worked in the insurance industry in Michigan for 25 years prior to moving to Aiken in 1990. Bob was a professional singer and actor, appearing in productions throughout the country. He worked as a professional Santa Claus for the last several years. Bob loved to travel and had a passion for singing karaoke. Survivors, in addition to his wife Shirley are his mother Katie, Fairhope, AL; two sons, Jeffrey Randall (Lisa) King, Ewing, NJ, Bradley Joseph King, Aiken; two grandchildren, Jacob Ryan King, Daniel Rylan King and a sister, Debi (Russ) Robbins, Silverhill, AL. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Millbrook Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service.
