AIKEN, SC - ROBERT LEWIS POLLARD, 90, widower of Beulah Dorris Pollard, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Georgia Health Sciences University.
A native of Yimauma, FL, Mr. Pollard was a son of the late Percy L. and Arie Bowman Pollard. He had lived in Aiken since 1953 and was a retired electrical engineer with DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn (David) Lucas, Erwin, NC, two sons, Michael (Olive George) Pollard, Charleston, SC, and Bruce Pollard, Aiken, five grandchildren, Timothy Pollard, Frances Pollard, Lewis (Erin) Pollard, Becky (Ian) Morris, and John Lucas, six great-grandchildren, Isaac, Karis, Elijah, Ellee and Samuel Pollard and Eli Morris and a sister, Dorothy Davenport, Tampa, FL. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Pollard was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane and a son, Jeffry.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Lewis Pollard officiating. Entombment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
