Boyce Hemphill Grier

AIKEN – Mr. Boyce Hemphill Grier, 83, beloved husband of Helen Falconer Grier, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 20 at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. David Cozad officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the ARMC Hospital Auxiliary. Mr. Grier was born in Doraville, GA, a son of the late Mark Brown and Emma Jennings Grier. He was a graduate of the Naval Academy and Erskine College and served with the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a Nuclear Physicist working for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for 25 years, a member of the U.S. Naval Alumni Association, a volunteer with the ARMC Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Seniors Men’s Club, former member of Fifty Plus and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Mark Brown (Kathy) Grier, Far Hills, NJ, Boyce Hemphill (Cindy) Grier, Naperville, IL, William Falconer (Sharon) Grier, Ellicott City, MD, Lee Jennings (Jennifer) Grier, Cambridge, MD; and ten grandchildren.
