AIKEN - Barbara Jean Mangrum Auvenshine, 76, beloved wife of Cullen Debro Auvenshine passed away on September 26, 2012 at their home on Edgefield Hwy.
Barbara was a native of Milan, TN and moved to Aiken in 1971 with her family. Barbara worked with abused and neglected children, retiring in 2003. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Granny and member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was loved by everyone who met her and showed Jesus' love to everyone she met.
She leaves behind a mother-in-law, Elaine Auvenshine of Dresden, TN, a sister June Gilmore of Peoria Heights, IL, two sons, Rickie Joe Rochelle of Grand Rapids, MI, and Danny (Sheila) Auvenshine of Aiken and a daughter Debra Auvenshine (Jorge) Pacifico of Aiken.
She also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Auvenshine, Keila (Dane) Burkhart, Vanessa Pacifico, Jorgedebro Pacifico, Melissa Pacifico and three adorable great-grandchildren Cullen, Kaleigh and Asher. She was also loved by five nephews, three nieces and her best friend Betty Ann Seeby.
She was preceded by her parents, S.M. and Mattie Lou Mangrum, a brother, Jerry Mangrum all of Milan, TN and a sister Sylvia Harris of California.
Visitation will be held at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 2-3 pm with a celebration of her life, at 3:00 pm. Taylor Wells and Wes Holbrook will be officiating. She will be buried at Memorial Gardens in Aiken. Pallbearers are Chad Auvenshine, Jorgedebro Pacifico, Dane Burkhart, Brian Lybrand, Shawn Bryan, and Robert Kneece.
In lieu of flowers, she requested memorials be sent to Shiloh Baptist Church Property Fund of Aiken, 3925 Shiloh Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29805.
