Iris Edgerton Thompson

AIKEN- Mrs. Iris Edgerton Thompson, 84, beloved wife to the late Robert L. Thompson, died Monday November 26, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating. Mrs. Thompson was born in Smithfield, NC, to the late Ramie Luther and Lela Edgerton. She was retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include a son, Robert R. (Susie) Thompson, Aiken; two grandchildren Robert R. Thompson, Jr., and Andrew R. Thompson; and two brothers Nuit Edgerton, Smithfield, NC, and Jack Edgerton, Greensboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 600 Main St., New Ellenton, SC 29809. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
