Aiken – Dorothy Taylor Brown, 92, died December 4, 2007, at Mattie C. Hall. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Jeri Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Aiken, November 8, 1915, to the late Joseph Willie and Bertie Shellhouse Taylor. She was a life long resident of Aiken County, a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church, and a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Carl E. (Kathy) Brown, Jr., Aiken, Brian D. (Holly) Brown, Central, SC. Four grandchildren, Trey (Kelley) Brown, Melanie (Burt) Starks, Lauren Brown, Nicole Brown and one great grandchild, Katie Brown; two sisters, Mary T. McLean and Laura T. Hicks, Aiken; and a brother, John W. Taylor. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband Carl Emeneker Brown, Sr., and her sisters, Velma T. Couch, Kathleen T. Cynova, Mildred T. Banes, Ruth T. Walton, Marjorie T. Thomas, and one brother, Joseph L. Taylor. Memorials may be directed to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648, or S.C.
