Aiken, SC- Mrs. Beverly J. Wiggins Key, 73, entered into rest on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Key was born in Galveston, Texas, having made Aiken her home since 1969. She was a member of the VFW and retired from sales in the insurance industry. Mrs. Key enjoyed doing crafts and working in her garden. She loved her pets and listening to country music and will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Vicky J. Wood, Wagener, SC and Rhonda R. (Charles) Boorman, Charlotte, NC; two sons, Larry D. (Cretia) Gilley, Boise, Idaho and Roland M. (Teresa) Gochicoa, Aiken, SC; twelve grandchildren, Christina Shealy, Jamie Moseley, Rick Moseley, Britteni Malacko, Danielle Woodall, Jessica Gilley, Joshua Gilley, Rachel Gilley, Elizabeth Gochicoa, Morgan Gochicoa, Nicholas Boorman and Natalie Boorman; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Honish, LaMarque, TX and a brother, Charles, Wiggins, Santa Fe, TX. Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Burnett Wiggins and Nora Perkins Ring. Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Ave., with the Reverend Jamie Bodiford officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the South Aiken Baptist Christian School Athletic Department, 980 Dougherty Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
