IVEY JEAN PAGE ALEXANDER AIKEN, SC - There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die… Ivey Jean Page Alexander born November 17, 1931 met her Savior and the love of her life again on December 8, 2007. Ivey born in Fernandina Beach, Florida married Robert Jenkins Alexander November 26, 1953 in Callahan Florida. She was Valedictorian of Callahan High School, attended Florida State University and to this day is a devout Seminole football fan. Ivey loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens, she had a green thumb. She loved her cats and dogs but most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. She retired from teaching at Mead Hall to provide loving care for them. She took them to school, piano lessons, the park, dance lessons and wherever they needed to go while their parents worked. Ivey has been a member of St. John’s United Methodist church in Aiken for over 50 years. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great children, a son Kenneth Jenkins (Delores) Alexander, two daughters Mary Susan (John) Gunther, and Jean Page (Dwayne) Courtney and special children Abbas (Fereshteh) Azzizzadeh, a cousin Matthias Smith. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Lois Page and by a brother killed in action after the Invasion of Normandy, George Frank Mills. Ivey was a remarkable mother, grandmother and friend she will be dearly missed by all. …and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 11 at St. Johns United Methodist Church. The Reverend Dr. George K. Howle will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Johns United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St., Aiken, SC 29801, or the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
