AIKEN, SC – Mr. John A. Grieshaber, 99 passed away December 10, 2007 with his daughters at his side in Aiken, SC. He was preceded in death by his bride of 67 years, Loretta Grieshaber.
Born in Toledo, OH of Swiss immigrants, he served his Country in France during WWII. He raised his family in Florida where he was an ornamental plastering contractor. Mid-life he moved his family to Toledo where he joined his uncles in the family wholesale greenhouse business. Upon retirement they moved to California to be with their daughter and famimly
He leaves his devoted daughters, Karen (Ron) Ramirez, Aiken, SC and Rosemary (Dan) Blomquist, Monterey, CA and four grandchildren, Christopher Warns, New York, NY, Elizabeth Clough, New York, NY, Brandon Blomquist, Los Angeles, CA and Daniel Blomquist, San Francisco, CA.
Mr. Grieshaber was the oldest member of Memorial United Church of Christ in Toledo, OH. He played golf until he was 86 years old. A proud 69 year member of the Masonic Order, he will be buried with is beloved wife and family in Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, OH.
