"THE ONLY PAIN SHE EVER CAUSED WAS WHEN SHE LEFT US." NEW ELLENTON, SC- MRS. ROXY JORDAN BOUKNIGHT, 84, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 12, 1928 to the late Lewis Malone Jordan and Sadie Strom Jordan. She grew up in Greenwood, SC and graduated from Lander College. She was a retired school teacher, teaching at Greendale Elementary for almost 30 years. She loved her students with all her heart. She is survived by her daughter, Beryl Bouknight Arbaugh (Ronnie) of Aiken, SC, her sons, William Hamilton Bouknight II (Karen) of Aiken, SC, Jordan Bouknight of Aiken, SC, and Terry Bouknight of New Ellenton, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Arbaugh of Lexington, SC, Brett Arbaugh of Aiken, SC, Ashley Wingard (Jonathan) of Greenville, NC, and Austin Bouknight (Randi) of North Augusta, SC. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Nathan and Molly Bouknight of North Augusta, SC. She leaves behind a very special sister, Ruby Scardato of Rochester, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hamilton Bouknight, her sister, Estelle Downs and three brothers, Edward Jordan, Marion Jordan, and Walton Jordan. The family wants to especially thank her caregiver, Caroline Miller, for giving her such loving care and happiness the last 5 years. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3PM at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home with Daniel Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
