AIKEN, SC – PAMELA TURNER RUCKER, 49, beloved wife of James F. “Jim” Rucker, Jr., died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at her residence following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)
A native of Spartanburg, SC, Pam was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Miller Turner. She graduated from Strom Thurmond High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Pam formerly worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Aiken Regional Medical Centers and Edgefield County Hospital and later as the I.V. Coordinator at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She loved the outdoors and was a former member of the Aiken Jaycees.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Jim, include two daughters, Kelli (Devon McCoy) Derr and Jodi (Jamie Bush) Derr, all of Aiken, three grandchildren, Ayden McCoy, Jace Wrightson and Owen McCoy, two brothers, Terry (Marti) Turner of Charleston and Carroll (Linda) Turner of Edgefield and her former husband, Steve (Melinda) Derr of North Augusta.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Church, with The Reverend Phillip Lee officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
