Mary Annie White Ward

AIKEN, SC – Mary Annie White Ward, 82, beloved wife of the late Richard E. Ward, died Tuesday January 1, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.. Mrs. Ward was born in Charleston, SC, to the late Albert and Annie Belle Bunch White. She had lived in Charleston for 75 years before moving to Aiken 8 years ago. She was a member of Dorway Baptist Church in Charleston and attended Darien Baptist Church in Aiken. Survivors include two daughters Annette (Doug) Bowers of Ladson, SC, and Margaret Ward of Aiken, SC, two grandchildren Chuck (Dana) Bowers and Barbara (Bobby) Webber of Summerville, SC, four great-grandchildren Tony Webber, Andy Webber, Chad Bowers, and Madison Bowers, one brother Albert White Jr., form North Charleston, SC, and special care giver and friend Patricia Cave Mrs. Ward is also preceded in death by her three sisters Bessie Romeo, Kathryn Pearson, and Willa Mae McCloud. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC with The Rev. Keith Ussery officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
