Claudia Peeples Hurt

AIKEN – Mrs. Claudia Peeples Hurt, 92, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 7 with the funeral services following at 11:00 AM in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Frank Hyder will officiate. Interment will be held Thursday, November 8 in Beaufort National Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Hurt was born in Early Branch, SC, a daughter of the late Johnny and Clara Peeples. Claudia worked at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC, and had been a resident of Beech Island and Aiken for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Beech Island Garden Club, and was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was known by many endearing names including momma Hurt, mother, mom, mammie, GG, and grandma. She is survived by her daughters, Mellanie Hurt Johnson, Aiken, Pamela (Stephane) Hennebert, Gif sur Yvette, France; son, William Hurt, III, Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Leslie Sims Johnson, Kara Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Christopher Thomas Hennebert; great grandchild, Kylie Kincaid Burnette; nephews, Tom (Cindy) Mixon, Beech Island, SC, Bobby (Pat) Peeples, Beaufort, SC John (Rose) Johnson, Tifton, GA, ; nieces, Jeanette Harris, Kissimmee, FL, Mary Taylor, Phoenix, AZ.
