AIKEN, SC – MR. KENNETH KAMON GREGORY, 92, of Aiken, beloved husband of Elizabeth Scott-Gregory, died Wednesday, January 09, 2008 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Gregory was a son of the late Ollie M. and Bertie Satcher Gregory. He was retired from the Woodhead Division of the Graniteville Co. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for 72 years, and was a member of the Joy Group. He also served as a deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Gregory was a farmer and sold produce at the Aiken Farmer’s Market for many years. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge # 156.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Lib, include three children, James K. (Mimi) Gregory, Columbia, SC, Alan D. Gregory, Aiken and Sandra (Howard) Evans, Aiken, a step-son, Marion A. (Pam) Scott, Lexington, step-daughter, Emmie Scott (Tom) Furman, Aiken, six grandchildren, James Gregory, Charles Gregory, Gregory Evans, Robert Evans, Douglas Gregory, Amy Elizabeth Perez, two step-grandchildren, Michael Furman and Scott Furman, eight great-grandchildren, a step-great-grandchild, and his good friend and hunting buddy, Everett Satcher.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mattie C. hall Health Care Center, United Hospice and Lorie Parker, caregiver.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, with The Rev.’s Dan Johnson and Taylor Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom McGahee, Onnie Fulmer, Arthur Williams, Stan Rodgers, Carl Brantley, Vernon Carter and Dan Magness.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
