AIKEN – Mrs. Eileen G. Driscoll Lawless, 93, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, at 12:00 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey Kirby celebrant. Final prayers and commendations will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawless was born in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Michael E. and Gertrude Shea Driscoll. She was a chemist, and moved to Aiken, in 1985. She was the first woman graduate of Michigan Technology University in Houghton, MI. She was a member of Houndslake Country Club, Houndslake Garden Club and the Town and Country Club, and was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Julie McCann (Richard) O’Connor, Bloomfield Hills, MI, Mary Kathleen McCann, Aiken; a son, David Michael McCann, Orangevale, CA; two stepdaughters, Margaret (Philip) Munson, Bellport, NY, Andrea (Blaine) Vetter, Penn Valley, CA; two stepsons, Stephen
P. Lawless, Elmira, NY, John B. Lawless, San Mateo, CA; nine grandchildren, David R. McCann, Michael J. McCann, Christopher J. McCann, John S. O’Connor, Katherine W. O’Connor, Jessica B. Vetter, Brennan Vetter, McClain G. Jackson, Camille Jackson; a sister, Kathleen McCauley, Munising, MI.
Her first husband, David S. McCann, second husband, John B. Lawless, stepdaughter, Marianne Jackson and grandson, Colin Vetter, preceded her in death.
