AIKEN, SC BETTIE LOU REECE MYERS, 88, beloved wife of 71 years of Leonard Edward Myers, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at her residence. Born in Kansas City, MO, Mrs. Myers was a daughter of the late Gail Floyd Reece and Nellie Hope Reece Willis. She spent most of her life in the St. Louis area prior to moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1983. She was a homemaker and had lived in Aiken since 1993. Bettie was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rolla Chapter 176. She was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church and also a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. Survivors, in addition to her husband Leonard, include two daughters, Sandra Krumm (Garnett), Hillsboro, MO and Donna L. Tarasawa (David), Aiken, SC; two sons, Gary Myers (Susan), Phoenix, AZ and Leonard Myers (Debbie), Dolittle, MO; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Donald Reece, and Ronald Reece. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Aiken's First Baptist Church with The Revs. Cathy Cole and Amy Stertz officiating.
