Frank Brown McCoy, Jr.

AIKEN, SC- Mr. Frank Brown McCoy, Jr., 90, of Aiken, SC, died December, 7, 2012 at his residence. Mr. McCoy was born in and a life-long resident of Aiken, SC; a son of the late Frank Brown McCoy, Sr. and Mabel Kimball McCoy. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and retired after many years of service from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. Mr. McCoy was a faithful member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the National Association of Rural Carriers, State and Local Carriers, National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, National Assoc. of Atomic Veterans, the American Legion, the Aiken Senior Men's Club, the Graniteville Leisure Years Club and Houndslake Country Club. Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence Stephens McCoy; two daughters, Macie Kimball McCoy, Aiken, SC and Stephenie McCoy (Van) Hewett, Mt. Pleasant, SC; two grandchildren, John Phillip (Carly) Hewett and Greta Hewett (Justin Greene): a sister, Mabel McCoy (Bill) Beasley, Aiken, SC and his beloved cat Chance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Grohman McCoy. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 at Aiken's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea, III officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Kimball, George Zirps, Bob Grover, Charles Pritchard, Mike Yount and Bill Kirkland. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ed Cushman Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
