Doris Hallman Blackwell

AIKEN- Doris Hallman Blackwell, 82, died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Doris was born in Johnston, SC, and the daughter of the late Mack Thomas Hallman and Gladys Hite Hallman. Her husbands; Charles Smith, Ernest “Earnie” Williams, Rudy Blackwell and brothers; Curtis Thomas Hallman and Laverne Keller Hallman preceded her in death. She was a life long South Carolina resident, who made Aiken her home in 1958. Ms. Blackwell worked for the well-known JB Whites, where she was a sales clerk. She was of the Methodist faith and was a loving mother to her children. One of her greatest joys was the love of dancing. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Aiken Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3:30 PM prior to the graveside at Shellhouse Funeral Home. Doris is survived by her daughter; Cheryl Smith Colley, Ridgeland, MS, sons; Gary Williams and Doug Blackwell, Aiken, grand daughter; Hollye Kavanagh, great grand daughter; Anna Kavanagh.
