AIKEN - Mr. Keith Oswald Eargle, 84, beloved husband of Joan Eargle of Blythewood, died at the home of his daughter, Susan Eargle (Jimmy) Bass in Aiken on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Keith was a master gardener and accomplished steel guitar player. Keith placed great emphasis on the value and results of a strong work ethic having retired from Gregory Electric at the age of 82. Even at the end of his courageous battle, his encyclopedic memory and humor brought joy and release to all he loved.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his three sons, Larry Eargle, Blythewood, Gary "Guy" (Linda) Eargle, Summerville, Tim (Shannon) Eargle, Aiken; three grandsons, Jimmy Bass, Tanner Eargle and Sidney Eargle; two granddaughters, Skylar Eargle and Ceci Eargle. Other sirvivors include sisters Lucille Weeks, Helen Richardson, Doris Oldham; brothers, Oscar L. Eargle, Jr., Patrick Eargle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Rick Boland officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
