Virginia "Dee Dee" Sinclair Brooks

AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Virginia “Dee Dee” Brooks, 71, left this life on December 24, 2012 to be reunited with her husband, Robert “Smokey” Brooks. Dee Dee was born in Staten Island, NY. Her family settled in Aiken as part of the Savannah River Plant growth in the 1950’s. She graduated from Aiken High School in1959, and then attended Southern Methodist College until she married Robert “Smokey” Brooks in 1961. In 1972 she was employed by theAiken County School District as a special education teacher’s aid for Oakwood Elementary School and a school bus driver. In 1978 Dee Dee was employed by ThermoDisc /ASCO and was line supervisor when she left in 1995 due to medical reasons. Her special talent was not in rewards or accolades; it was in her sweet soul and the ability to bring happiness and kindness to all whose life she touched. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Brooks (Roni), Acworth, GA and her daughter, Kelly Frontroth (Brion), Aiken, SC, two grandchildren, Victor Frontroth and Micenna Brooks, a brother Bruce Sinclair and sister, Penny Jacobsen. The family will receive visitors at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. The burial will be a private family burial.
