Helen Falconer Grier

AIKEN – Mrs.Helen Falconer Grier, 89, died Sunday, December 30, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Friday at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Mrs. Grier was born in Brainerd, MN, a daughter of the late George Bancroft and Alvina Novak Falconer. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1988, and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a volunteer with the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of Houndslake Country Club. She also served in the Women’s Army Corp during WWII. She is survived by her four sons, Mark Brown Grier, Far Hills, NJ, Boyce Hemphill Grier, Jr., Naperville, IL, William Falconer Grier, Ellicott City, MD, Lee Jennings Grier, Cambridge, MD; ten grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Root, Tucson, AZ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Hemphill Grier.
