Herschel Robert Travis, Jr.

GRANITEVILLE – Mr. Herschel Robert Travis, Jr., 61, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Richmond VA Veterans Hospital while waiting for a heart transplant. A Celebration of Life for Herschel Robert Travis will be held at Rose Hill in Aiken Saturday, February 16 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Family and friends will meet in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Born in Morgantown, WV, he was the only son of Herschel, Sr. and the late Daisy Jane Travis. He is survived by his wife Victoria, his twin sons Robert and Richard Travis of Graniteville, SC, and other family members. His son, Sean McNeill Travis, preceded him in death. Mr. Travis was an avid golfer and belonged to Midland Valley Country Club, CSRA Seniors, Aiken Seniors and Pine Ridge Seniors. He was also an avid round dancer and served in the United States Navy. Mr. Travis was the owner/broker of Fairway Realty. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to Aiken Barnwell Mental Health Center, 1135 Gregg Hwy, Aiken, SC 29801.
