AIKEN, SC – BETTY DeLONG SIMMONS, 76, widow of Billy R. Simmons, died Thursday, February 13, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Smoaks, SC, Mrs. Simmons was a daughter of the late Charles and Dahlia Kinard DeLong. She was a homemaker and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and the Chapel Sunday School class.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronica (Steve) Zielinski, Edgefield, SC and Cheryl (Freddie) Westall, Aiken, a son, Randy (Teresa) Simmons, Aiken, five grandchildren,Tonya Riggs, Beth (Ken) Littler, Michelle (Jody) Smith, Micheal (Valerie) Zielinski, all of Aiken and Spc. Raymond Zielinski, Iraq, four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Gabriel Riggs and Tawny and Kat Littler, a sister, Helen Givens, Walterboro and a brother, Louis DeLong, Orangeburg.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev.’s Mike Chandler and Jimmy White offiaiting. Private interment will take place earlier in the day at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
