Marian C. Lewis

AIKEN, SC – MARIAN C. MITCHELL LEWIS, 93, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 28, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Williston, SC, Mrs. Lewis was a daughter of the late Calvin and Annie Hires Mitchell. She lived most of her life in Aiken and was a retired practical nurse. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Lewis Clark (Bobby), Aiken; three sons, William B. Lewis (Linda), Buckhead, GA, Leonard C. Lewis (Judy), Eatonton, GA and Perry W. Lewis (Dianne), Brooks, GA; twelve grandchildren, Bobby Clark, Jr., Ben Lewis, Susie Lewis Williams, Eric Lewis, Kirk Lewis, Josh Lewis, Zack Lewis, Sonya Lewis Yates, Sadonna Lewis Carter, Casey Lewis Newman, Meagan Lewis and Jose Ayala; thirty one great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice Bradley, Columbia, SC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Stringfield, Addie Lee Frederick and Edna Burckhalter Weathersbee; a brother, LaRome Mitchell and a grandson, Nick Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Shellhouse Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Henry Chennault officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
