John Daniel Pittman

AIKEN, SC- JOHN DANIEL PITTMAN, 65, beloved husband of 43 years to Wendy, née Cline, passed away suddenly, Saturday, February, 2, 2013 at his residence. Born December 24, 1947 in Atlanta, John was a son of Walter D. Pittman and the late Mary Gaines Pittman. After receiving a degree in Aerospace Engineering from San Diego State University, he worked as a Corporate Executive in the telecommunications industry for over 35 years. His work took him to numerous places throughout the world. After retiring to Aiken in 2006, John enjoyed golf, boating and wood working. John was also a distinguished United States Naval Reserve Officer rising to the rank of Commander. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by three sons, Bryan D. Pittman, Aiken, SC, Seth C. Pittman (Shawna), Wichita, KS and Jared Pittman, (Denise) Omaha, NE; five grandchildren, Logan, Wyatt, Mary, Victoria and Lloyd Pittman; a sister, Rebecca Richards (Michael), Austin, TX and two brothers, Robert G. Pittman (Marsha) and Thomas A. Pittman, both of Austin TX. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Henry Chennault officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC with full military honors.
