Thomas C. Walker, Jr.

AIKEN, SC – THOMAS C. WALKER, JR., 72, beloved husband of Pauline “Polly” Holmberg Walker, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at his residence. A native of Tamaqua, PA, Mr. Walker was a son of the late Thomas C. and Helen Esther Mengel Walker, Sr.. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired property manager for D.O.E. at the Savannah River Site. He began the Aiken Chapter of the National Property Management Association. Mr. Walker was a member of Cedar Creek Church and had served on the prayer team ministry. Survivors, in addition to his wife Polly, include two daughters, Jennifer D. (Mark S. Adams) Walker, MD, Boston, MA, and Alison W. (David M.) Buchanan, Aiken, a son, Thomas Matthew Walker, Edisto Beach, SC, two grandchildren, M. Walker Taylor and Adam W. Buchanan, both of Aiken , two step-grandchildren, Zachary M. and Devan D. Buchanan, both of North Augusta, and an aunt, Blodwyn Mengel, Lehighton, PA. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Children’s Ministry of Cedar Creek Church, 3001 Banks Mill Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
