AIKEN, SC - ROBERT CARL "BOB" ROMINE, 85, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness.
A native or Morgantown, WV, Mr. Romine was a son of the late Carl Chester and Ruby Laura Shaffer Romine. He was first married to the late Patricia Romine and then to the late Phyllis Jennifer Romine. He had lived in Aiken since 1952 to work for DuPont at the Savannah River Plant and retired as a lab technician. In his early years in Aiken he raised Appaloosa horses. He was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church and the Bernard Rowland Sunday School Class. He was proud to have been the oldest member of the church to participate in a mission trip to Nicaragua in 2011. Bob was a big fan of West Virginia Football, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include three sons, Robert C, Romine, Jr., Ocala, FL, Roger Ward Romine, Aiken and Mark Ashley Romine, Gaston, SC; a daughter, Robyn Sue Jordan, Morganton, NC, and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at Town Creek Baptist Church with The Revs. Clint Smith and Dr. Henry L. Chennault officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bernard Rowland Sunday School Class.
