Eddie Elizabeth Stringer Newton

AIKEN, SC - EDDIE ELIZABETH STRINGER NEWTON, 92, widow of Robert Lander Newton, Sr., died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her residence. A native of Augusta, GA, Mrs. Newton was a daughter of the late Charlie Eugene Stringer, Sr., and Thelma Rosetta Morris Stringer. She worked at Camp Gordon during World War II. She had lived in Aiken for 50 years and was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught at St. Mary's Catholic School and with Aiken County Public Schools at Clearwater Elementary School and other elementary schools in Midland Valley. Survivors include her children, Robin Lander Nunnally, Aiken, Margaret "Midge" Nunnally (B. Allen), Aiken, Karen Arleen Culp (Eddie), Tybee Island, GA and Robert Lander Newton, Jr., (Susan), Dillon, SC; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a brother, Charlie Eugene Stringer, Jr., Aiken.
