AIKEN, SC – RICHARD ANTHONY DeMASI, SR., 91, beloved husband of Josephene Pontilena DeMasi, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Mr. DeMasi was a son of the late Sabato and Mary DeMasi. He was the former owner of Dick’s Delight and DeMasi’s Italian American Restaurants in Aiken. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3684.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Josephine include two sons, Richard A. (Marguerite) Demasi, Jr, Blythewood, SC, Robert B. (Teri) DeMasi, Wagener, four grandchildren, Richard A. (Katherine) DeMasi, Suzette (Giulio) Gianturco, Jamie J. (Melanie) DeMasi and Karly R. DeMasi, and seven great-grandchildren, Richard A. DeMasi IV, Nicolas P. DeMasi, Mimi L. DeMasi, Evan P. DeMasi, Marco M. Gianturco and Nina V. Gianturco.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 2:00 PM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
