Inoise Willis McKeown

AIKEN – Mrs. Inoise “Penny” Kneece Willis McKeown, 86, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at St. John United Methodist Church, Graniteville. Pastor Larry Watson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. McKeown was born in Aiken County, a daughter of the late Julian Pace and Lucie Gunter Kneece. Penny was a life long resident of Aiken County. She graduated from Winthrop College and received her Masters in Education from the University of South Carolina. She was a teacher in the Aiken County School System for 35 years. She was a volunteer for Hitchcock Rehabilitation Center and a member of St. John Methodist Church in Graniteville where she was active in the choir and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a pianist for the church service at Trinity Lutheran Home until her passing. She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Daniel Carroll (“Tincy”) Willis, and Calvin Miller McKeown, and a daughter Jane Willis Clarke. Survivors include four daughters, Millie Leaphart, Greenville, SC, Carol Smith, Goose Creek, SC, Becky Patch, Asheville, NC, Catherine Love, Weaverville, NC; two sons, Sam McKeown, Chester, SC, Dan Willis, Aiken, SC; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Monroe Kneece, Johnston, SC.
