AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Eula Mae Jones Ross completed her earthly journey on Friday, March 15, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Clarence Boyd Ross, Sr. As the second of four daughters she was born to Ulta Mathule Jones and Alice Blanton Jones of Blacksburg, SC, on June 17, 1914.
Predeceased by her husband, parents, and two of her sisters, Mrs. Ross is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Stan Smith of Aiken; son and daughter-in-law, C. B. and Brenda Ross of Pembroke Pines, FL; sister, Virginia J. Keller of Gaffney, SC; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ross lived most of her adult life in North Charleston, SC after moving there in 1942. There she was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church and enjoyed a sixty-year career as a cosmetologist. She enjoyed being with people, travel and shopping. In 2004 she moved to Cumberland Village in Aiken, SC and became a member of First Baptist Church, Aiken.
Mrs. Ross was especially blessed to have been cared for lovingly at The Hills at Cumberland Village, Shadow Oaks Assisted Living Community, and in her last days at Pepper Hill Nursing Center.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. A Celebration of her life will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC. at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013.
