AIKEN, SC - Camille L. Tomaini, 76, of Aiken, South Carolina, died peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
Born in Long Branch, NJ, on June 6, 1936, Camille was the first of five daughters of Thomas F. and Marguerite J. Lyons of Highlands, NJ. She retired from the NJ Natural Gas Company, Wall Township, NJ, and moved to Aiken with her husband in 2002. She was a member of Aiken Newcomers’ Club and its Stitch and Chat group. She enjoyed embroidering and knitting for family and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph S. Tomaini, and her parents. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Christina T. and Robert E. Edwards, III, of Aiken, and her four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline and James Muzzi of Whiting, NJ, MaryJo Parrott of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, Linda and Joseph Small of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and Tommye Francine and Alex Ashuck of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the support of friends, neighbors, and medical professionals – particularly Dr. Mitchell Berger –provided throughout her courageous battle.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
