Paul Arden Clayton

JOHNSTON – Mr. Paul Arden Clayton, 57, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Medical College of Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Ave. Interment will be private. Paul was born in Heidelberg, Germany, a son of the late Harry Arden and Elsie Rose Whitman Clayton. He moved to the Aiken area in 1986, and worked for the City of Aiken as a Supervisor and Technician. Paul could be seen working on maintenance projects for the City of Aiken including the construction of the fountains located throughout the city. Survivors include his beloved wife, Bernadette Jean Lewis Clayton; two children, James Davison of Johnston and Ashleigh Davison of Aiken; a sister, Pamela Rosemary Clayton, Sequim, WA; a brother, Gerald Harry Clayton, Lorsbach/Hofheim, Germany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC 29801, or the Equine Rescue of Aiken, 532 Glenwood Drive, Aiken, SC 29803. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Shellhouse Funeral Home, Inc., 924 Hayne Ave., Aiken, SC.
