Henry Steier, Jr.

AIKEN, SC- HENRY STEIER, JR., 83, of Aiken, SC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Anna (neé Gunther) and Henry Steier, Sr. Henry served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the scouting years with his sons as a Cub Scout Webelos Leader and Boy Scout Leader. He received the Order of the Arrow award. Henry also volunteered in Brevard County's South Lake Elementary kindergarten. The highlight of his working career was working for the Grumman Aerospace Company's Apollo Program. Henry is survived by his loving wife, Marie; two sons, Henry and Donald; a daughter-in-law, Laura; two grandsons, Sean and Tyler; along with several cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Arthur and a daughter-in-law, Azucena. As were his wishes, Henry chose cremation with a graveside religious ceremony in Florida's Oaklawn Cemetery.
