AIKEN, SC - JOHN DANIEL LOWERY, 68, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at University Hospital in Augusta. A native of Sylacauga, AL, John was a son of Esther Burckhalter Lowery and the late Reverend Fred Lowery. He was former owner of Pendarvis - Lowery Chevrolet in Barnwell, SC and former salesman at Vernon Chevrolet in Aiken. Survivors in addition to his mother, Esther in Hurst, TX, include a daughter, Trina L. Greenwood (Anthony), North Augusta; a son, Howard F. Lowery, Aiken; two grandchildren, Ansley S. Tyler and Anthony M. Greenwood, Jr., North Augusta; a sister, Jeannie Metts (Roy), Colleyville, TX; two brothers, Dr. Fred L. Lowery (Leigh), Bossier City, LA and Dr. Charles S. Lowery (Penny), Plano, TX; former wife, Jan Royal, Aiken; six nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM Monday, April 15, 2013 at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
