AIKEN, SC – JUDITH “JUDY” McDANIEL SMITH, 63, beloved wife of Gene Smith, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
A native of Baton Rouge, LA, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Alex Floyd and Minnie Delilah Hutchinson McDaniel. She moved to Aiken 23 years ago from Louisiana and was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Post 649 Ladies Auxiliary and was active in Compassionate Friends.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Gene, include a daughter, Redina Nettles, Aiken, a son, Robbin (Ann Lober) Nettles, Covington, IN, four grandchildren, Holly (Kerry) Foreman, Jackson, SC, Heather Graham, Aiken, Randall Nettles, Sigorney, IA and Derrin Nettles, Union, MS, six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison Graham, Gage Bowers, Keylee and Bryce Foreman and Daelin Nettles, and two sisters, Eula Mae Marchifava, Baton Rouge, LA and Eloise Roddy, Gonzales, LA. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Randy Nettles.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
