Rev. C. Daivid Laird

October 11, 1934 — April 28, 2013

AIKEN – Rev. C. David Laird, Jr., 78, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Uni Health of Aiken. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at 3:00 PM at Millbrook Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard and the Reverend Stephen McNeill officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Hale, Joe DeHart, Rick Caldwell, Frankie Goldman, Bob Buckley and Randy Key. Revered Laird, a native of North, SC was married to his high school sweetheart and served as a devoted husband for 57 years with 21 years of that time spent at Levels Baptist Church. He began his ministry in 1964 after graduating from Anderson and Erskin College. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Rev. Laird enjoyed spending time at church and making memories with his family and his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and Papa. Rev. Laird is survived by his loving children, Bradley David (Valerie) Laird, Aiken, Darlynn Laird (Ron) Moore, Aiken, Brett Darian (Mary Beth) Laird, Aiken; three special granddaughters, Summer Ann Mundy, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Laird and Haley Darlynn Moore; three special grandsons, Tyler Ryan Laird, Hunter Brett Laird and Taylor Carter Moore. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Laird and his sister-in-laws Peggy Laird and Bobbie Laird and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Evelyn T. Laird who died in January 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Millbrook Baptist Church Student Ministry, 223 South Aiken Blvd., Aiken, SC 29803 in memory of Rev. C.
