AIKEN, SC – CURTIS PATRICK FANNING, 42, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Orangeburg, SC, Curtis was a son of Joann Widener Fanning and the late Samuel Patrick Fanning. He had lived most of his life in Aiken and was a mechanic and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Ford Fanning, his mother Joann of Abingdon, VA, two sons, Corey Fanning and Jonathan Fanning both of Aiken, a brother, Scott Fanning, Beech Island, SC, a sister, Kim Millsap, Abingdon, VA, paternal grandmother, Lessie Fanning, Aiken, maternal grandparents, Elgin and Nell Pierce, Abingdon, VA, uncle, Rev. Jim (Julia) Fanning, Gaston, SC, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John E. and Margie Ford, Aiken, sister-in-law, Sandra (Michael) Ford Shealey, Wagener and a nephew, Bryson Shealey.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church with The Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clyde Ergle, Mark Kniphfer, Jimmy Rogers, Ross Jackson, Chip McKinney and Chad McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
