AIKEN, SC - DARRYL SCOTT HERRING, 49, beloved husband of Debbie Herring, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Georgia Regents Medical Center, Augusta, GA.
A native of Charleston, SC, Darryl was a son of the Gayle King Herring and the late David LeGrand Herring. He was a veteran, retiring from the United States Navy after 21 years. After his retirement he worked as a photographer for the National Archives in Washington, DC and then the National Parks Service in Ransom, WV. Darryl had lived in Aiken County since 2011.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; mother Gayle, Beech Island; daughter, April (Jeffrey) Engelbrecht, Martinsburg, WV; two sons, Mark Herring and Wes Herring, both of Beech Island; a grandson, Haydn Scott Engelbrecht; brother, David (Vicki) Herring, St. Petersburg, FL; maternal grandmother, Kaki King, Beech Island and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with Military Honors. The Rev. Dr. Henry L. Chennault will officiate.
