Bettie Corley Counts

AIKEN, SC - BETTIE CORLEY COUNTS, 81, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Newberry, SC, Bettie was a daughter of the late James and Mozelle Bolen Corley. She was a graduate of Newberry High School and had lived most of her adult life in Aiken. She was an engineering clerk with BellSouth and AT&T, retiring after 43 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Bettie will be remembered by the kind, gentle and dignified life she lived. Survivors include her son, Randy Counts (Cherry), Simpsonville, SC; three granddaughters, Amy Elizabeth Counts, Lexington, SC, Nicole Counts Keeter (Bill), Falls Church, VA and Star Counts, Wagener, SC; four great-grandchildren, Flynn Keeter, Haley Brock, Hunter Brock and Ivy Carver. She was preceded in death by her son George Michael Counts on April 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held Monday, June10, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Grant Wiseman officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
