Michael Burger

AIKEN, SC- MICHAEL LEON BURGER, 61, of Aiken, SC, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Michael was a son of Sue and the late Clyde Burger. Michael had made Aiken his home since 1991 and had worked as a Nuclear Health Physicist at SRP/Westinghouse for fourteen years. A very Christian man, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Montmorenci. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his beloved wife, Connie Reeder Burger; five daughters, Andrea (Dennis) Epperly, Aiken, SC; Mellissa (Ty) Burnett, Manchester, TN, Jennifer (Chad) Loflin, Winston Salem, NC, April (Tommy) Gaffney, Waterloo, SC and Crystal Dawn (Marty) James, Gray Court, SC; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and his mother-in-law, Jean Wilkes, Greenwood, SC. The family will receive friends this Saturday evening from 6-8 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, June 9, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci with the Reverend Doctor Tommy Richardson officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Epperly, Mike Reeder, Billy Reeder, Jr., Tommie Gaffney, Marty James and Judson James. Private family interment.
